The Pyrenees Bureau, which brings together the local authorities, made the situation known and, as was denounced at the meeting on 21 June, the development of the Pyrenean Plan is not being satisfactory. They believe that in 2024 there has been a stop and, moreover, that the commitment of the Government of Navarra to the plan has been reduced. One of the indicators is, among others, the reduction in staffing to develop the plan, as the Bureau has recently denounced.

According to Irati Irratia, some 90 people have participated in the assembly, and after the explanations given by the representatives of the Bureau and the exchange of opinions among the citizens, he was outraged by the Government of Navarra.

The citizens believe that the Government of Navarre has taken a step backwards in the Pyrenean plan. Among other things, as announced in the assembly, the new depopulation law should be terminated by 2025, but it is being delayed and will not be.

The development of the plan depends on the Ministry of Territorial Cohesion. At the meeting on 17 June with the advisor Oscar Chivite and the director of the plan, José María Rodríguez, the members of the government moved that everything remains the same and that, as so far, every month they will go to the Pyrenees to meet with the table. The members of the Pirenaica Bureau, however, are of the opinion that they have another vision and that they are seeing the plan being emptied, and they believe that the feeling they have felt in the Jaurrieta assembly is the same.

One of the members of the table is the mayor of Auritz/Burguete, Unai Irigarai, who has denounced that they feel “forgotten” in statements to Euskalerria Irratia. In the event that the situation does not improve, he has asked the citizens to pay attention to the situation.
