Students have started to mobilize early this morning. Pickets have been carried out in different campuses and schools, as well as roadblocks. Several young people have been chained to the gates of the Public University of Navarra. On the campus of Vitoria-Gasteiz, in the faculty of Letras, the protestants have broken furniture and caused various damages:

Once the Ertzaintza has come to the Vitoria-Gasteiz campus, he has identified several people and arrested 34, according to the Basque Department of Security.

Convened by Ikasle Abertzaleak, they met at 12:00 in Pamplona/Iruña, Donostia-San Sebastián, Bilbao and Vitoria-Gasteiz. They have gathered a multitude of people, thousands of people, according to the organizers of the event. The organizers have denounced that in the Bilbao demonstration the Ertzaintza "has been launched against students".

At 19:30 a.m., Ikasle Abertzaleak has called for concentrations and concentrations to denounce "the responsibility of the UPV/EHU", in solidarity with the detainees. In Vitoria-Gasteiz they will meet in the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca in Pamplona/Iruña in Navarrería, on the Boulevard Donostiarra and in Bilbao in the Plaza de los Hermanos Etxebarrieta.

"In the absence of organization, the rich will use us to our liking"

They protest against the reforms implemented in Secondary Education – LOMLOE reform – in universities – LOSU reform – and in Vocational Training – Vocational Training Plan. They claim that education needs a comprehensive solution: "The road is to build a socialist educational system." They denounce that LOMLOE "will eliminate any possibility" of developing critical thinking and that through the LOSU and the Coexistence Law "will disintegrate the degrees that guarantee the economic benefit".

At the end of the demonstration, they spoke against these reforms: "It is clear to us that what directly impacts these reforms is the working class, to the point of being forcibly expelled from the educational process." Therefore, they believe that it is time to mobilize: "Because there's no change without organization. That is why we have left the street: in the absence of mobilizations and organization, because the rich will use us to satisfy their interests".

The Abertzales students consider that the importance of participating in the strike day is that: "We are clear that it is possible to build a new education that overrides the well-being of all to the economic interests of the few: the socialist educational system"

UPV Rectory Team: "They are attacks on coexistence"

The University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) executive team has denounced the incidents and events that have occurred on campus. As he explained, they have been "particularly serious" on the campus of Álava: "They have been painted on the walls and the furniture of some of those buildings has been torn apart."

The Rectorado condemned these acts "without palliation" and stressed that "they are violent acts by minorities that have committed against coexistence". Damage is being assessed "in order to lodge a complaint and to demand responsibility", as specified by the Ertzaintza.
