- Members of the BIEUSE Basque Dubbing Association have approved the doubling of the film Pikatxu Detective, thanks to an agreement with the REC recording studio to promote an agreement. This is the first film that will be brought to the Basque Country since the doublers stood up to report their situation to the public.
“This recognition has only been driven by the company’s decision,” explains BIEUSE, so this decision does not mean that the decision to start doubling the films of the Zineuskadi programme has been taken. In fact, BIEUSE considers that the responsibility for the situation in the sector lies with the Department of Linguistic and Cultural Policy of the Basque Government.
Since they decided to plant themselves in January to denounce the decline in the number of hours that double in Euskera and the ever worse working conditions, in cinemas the offer in Euskera is even smaller. Following the announcement of the doubling of detective Pikatxu, the association notes that “the number of hours doubling is not enough to maintain the profession with minimal professionalism.”
