The Badian Bizi de Lezo group has denounced in a press release that the activity of the Port of Pasaia is a source of all kinds of infections suffered and continue to suffer by the neighbours of Lezo and the rest of the villages in the Bay Area.

"We are already fed up with the fact that people are not doing loading and unloading properly, that dust and smoke are inhaled every day, or that noise is much higher than allowed, even at night," they say. They have recalled that the fire that took place on 2 August 2018 on the docks in Lezo "raised all the alarms", as well as the anger of the citizens.

"Unfortunately, things have not changed at all, the Port Authority of Pasaia and the companies operating in the port without a municipal licence continue to pollute and destroy the quality of life and health of citizens. Meanwhile, the competent public institutions that should act on behalf of citizens remain silent and inactive".

The activist who sent the ashes to the authorities in October 2018 has denounced the impotence of the area’s neighbours and has therefore called for a rally in his favour.
