The pandemic has led to the predominance of special format bertsolaris
- The Bertsozale Elkartea Association has recorded a total of 983 bertsolaris performances in 2020. The previous year was 1,671. Special format sessions have risen and of this type have been the most successful sessions of 2020 (303). In 2019, on the other hand, the majority were free (433 sessions) and interpersonal (344 sessions), although the pandemic has reduced them, as the 2020 data show: there were only 75 free plaza and 113 friendships.

The Bertsozale Elkartea Association publishes the Bapatean publication every year and you can already read the 2020 edition. It contains the chosen bertsos and data that reflect the movement of the proceedings. Those of now have reflected the influence that the pandemic has had on bertsolaris plazas.
Bertsolaritza actions have been drastically reduced in 2020, and in addition, measures taken in the face of the pandemic have changed trends in bertsal types. As for the territories, in all seven cases there is a similar decrease and in 2020 it is also Gipuzkoa that has the largest number of sessions (421), followed by Bizkaia (216) and Navarra (107).
