Palestine suspends security agreements with Israel and the United States
  • The President of the Palestinian National Authority (ANP), Mahmud Abbas, today announced that he will suspend "all agreements" he had with Israel and the United States. The decision has been taken after the State of Israel announced its intention to occupy several territories in the West Bank.

“As of today, the Palestine Liberation Organization and the State of Palestine are acquitted of the agreements with the Governments of the United States and Israel and of the obligations that these agreements brought, including security,” said Abbas. The security of the Palestinians in the occupied territories has therefore been left to the State of Israel.

This is not the first time that Palestine has shown its intention to end these agreements, which they have already announced. Palestine already announced in April that it would bring Israel to the international courts of justice if it continues with its intention to occupy the territories of the West Bank. And he did so on May 19, two days before Netanyahu ratified his plans.

Annexation or occupation

On Sunday, the Israeli Government was formed, calling for calm. Netanyahu and Gosa are the heads of the two majority parties, with eighteen months in office each and another eighteen months in office. Netanyahu has opened the seat of power and with it they intend to occupy the new territories of the West Bank. Netanyahu plans to vote on 1 July next on the “agreement signed with the United States on the sovereignty of the West Bank,” Obama reports.

The Arab League has warned that "war would be a new crime." The European Union and the United Nations have agreed that they have passed international law and have asked the Government to abandon annexations.
