If India is prepared to do the same, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed his readiness to destroy the nuclear missile arsenal. It has also asked the Indian Government to sit at the negotiating table to seek a solution to the historic conflict in Cacmir.
“The idea of the nuclear war between Pakistan and India is the destruction of cars; we have in common a border of 4,000 kilometres,” said the Pakistani Prime Minister, who added that the territorial conflict in Cacmir is the only obstacle preventing the normalization of relations between the two countries.
Donald Trump through
The role Trump has to play in resolving the conflict between Pakistan and India is different. For Imran Khan, Trump can play an important role: “We are talking about 1.3 billion people. Imagine the economic benefits that can be achieved with peace if we solve Kaxmir’s account.”
India takes the opposite view. Recently, the Indian Government has announced that it will resolve bilaterally the problems it has with Pakistan and has responded strongly to Donald Trump’s call for intervention.
Historical conflict in Kashmir
The Kaxmir conflict is over 70 years old. India and Pakistan were under the British crown in 1945, inside the so-called British Raj-a. After the end of the Second World War, the independence movements were strengthened in the different territories of the British Empire, including the British Rajoy, and Britain sought to make the independence process as favourable as possible for him. So he designed a religious separation plan. Pakistan for Muslims, India for Hindus and Sichists. The separation of the two countries resulted in the displacement of 14 million people. It is estimated that 10 per cent of displaced persons died from poor conditions and, above all, from increased violence.
Cacmir was the area that most influenced the separation, as most were Muslims. For this reason, last century there were two major wars to dominate Cacmir: 1947 and 1965. It became one of the most militarized areas in the world; India, with greater military power, began to promote Islamist armed groups in Pakistan, and throughout history have perpetrated numerous attacks.
In 1971, India promoted Bangladesh ' s independence process and collected those fleeing genocide on its territory. In 1972, Pakistan began its plans to develop nuclear weapons and in 1998 it became a nuclear power. After the conversion of the two countries into a nuclear power, the conflict stopped.
Since then the case has been maintained, but no exit has been found. In February of this year, the tension was raging again and the two Asian countries are now taking steps to bring the situation back and resolve the conflict.
