According to Health Advisor Gotzone Sagardui, Basques between 16 and 29 years old will be able to take the vaccination date from this Friday. Young people who want to get vaccinated will be able to do so between July and August via the Osakidetza website.

Once the routes to vaccinate this part of the population in the CAPV have been opened, the juvenile vaccination would be implemented throughout the Basque Country. The Basque Health-Osasunbidea Service took this step last week and in Ipar Euskal Herria there have already been several weeks of vaccination without an age limit.

The counsellor has stressed that vaccination will be carried out as vaccines arrive, according to the summer months forecast. There are 270,000 people between the ages of 16 and 29, and in the other age ranges people are still about to get vaccinated. Vaccination of the population between 60 and 69 years of age is expected to close in July and an estimated 115,000 people of that age will be vaccinated. Vaccinations between 40 and 49 years and between 30 and 39 years are also underway. Therefore, vaccination of young people will be influenced by the rhythms of other age groups and by the number of doses coming.
