No more promises, real solutions have now organized mobilizations under the motto. The Basque Government will be required to strengthen the public health system in the streets of the three capitals. In the opinion of the Platform, the Basque Government has taken the "path of dismantling and privatization" of public health. They claim that promises to strengthen the public health system are not enough and that "greater and better investments" are needed.
Priority has been given to primary care. According to what the OPA has explained, focusing on prevention and health promotion would reduce spending, provide better care and ensure the sustainability of the system.
The Basque Government, however, denies that the privatization of Osakidetza is taking place. The Minister of Health, Alberto Martínez, said that "there are no solid or solid arguments" for the demonstrations and stressed that the government is the government that allocates the least money to private medicine in Europe, with 5%. However, he stressed that citizens have the right to demonstrate.
According to OPA, mobilizing "in defense of the public health system" is essential and the need to end the "precarious working conditions" of professionals has been highlighted. All citizens are invited to participate in the demonstrations on 1 February. It starts in Bilbao at 12:00 from the Sacred Heart, also in Vitoria-Gasteiz at 12:00 from the Bilbao Plaza and in San Sebastián at 17:00 from the Boulevard
