This year ADEL has been multitudinous. One of the most massive editions. And they've enjoyed the participants, the actors, the students of the courses and the teachers, the organizers and, of course, the audience. Creativity must be given and, for the sixteenth year, the old and new comrades of Artedrada have sincerely fulfilled it.

Ander Lipus, from Artedrada, recalled that every year they have a good answer. “Fortunately, this year’s has also gone very well. Everything has gone very well. It has been the sixteenth edition, it is easily said, but there are already some”.

This year’s meetings have been a great novelty: all the performances have been carried out on the fronton and there have been “many people”. The average number of viewers per day is about 150: “I think it’s been more people than ever every day. You have to bear in mind that it was not the days of Easter Week, it was working days, and yet, the pediment has been very crowded. We are also very happy. The fact that there are 150 people on a Tuesday at 21:00 is a great success for the Basque theatre.” Therefore, they have made a “very positive” assessment.

Between 20 and 25 September, six performances have been offered in the pediment: Amua (Axut Kolektiboa), Antigone (Horman Poster), Lurrun Minez (Mauma Kolektiboa), Ilapen (Mairu), Porno VS. Afrodita (Benetan Be Teatroa) and overseas Lurra Garratz (HutsTeatroa eta Drama).

Quarry for relay

Artedrama is not only to see, to teach what it has created, but also to learn, to create, to develop creativity. And in this task the fourteen students who have received intensive courses in Lea Espazioa have worked. Lipus has been one of the teachers and has highlighted that they have had a “very good” team: “The students have been very satisfied with the proposals we have brought, that is, with the courses taught by the teachers. You've seen how comprehensive the program we're doing is, and it's very intense. Because you also see, this year it's been pretty clear that the teachers they have offered their plays, and it's been really interesting for them to see their proposals. Being very young people is a joy, because there is a quarry, they are young people who are studying in Dantzerti and in Madrid. It's a joy to see that the relay is approaching, that there are people who want to learn theater. Discovering it has been nice.”

Students and teachers have immersed themselves in new worlds, have built and deconstructed, have taken ownership of the staging game and, by working creativity and identity, have expressed love in actions.

On the other hand, Lipus has highlighted the support and help of those who make Artedrama possible year after year, in collaboration with the City of Aulesti and with the cooperation of the citizens. “Every year, the involvement of citizens is important: We have Lea Espazioa for the courses, the bar Ilunzar gives dinners to the members of the group besutruk, the individuals leave us houses for some things… There is a great implication among the citizens. That makes the project more popular. The village also takes the festival, and that is to be welcomed. It is a festival that is born with the people; the people thank it very much and we notice it. Many times the citizenship comes close to saying that the festival is grateful for being in Aulesti”.

Return to the Date of Forever

Goodbye to the sixteenth, you're already looking at parenting. And they have announced that the 2022 Basque Artedrama Laboratory will be held during Easter Week. They will return to the regular schedule. “The seventeenth, six months from now, in April. We are eager, now looking at the following, and to see if we can go ahead with these meetings, and if the situation normalizes a little more and we do so in Easter Week.”
