The Gallego film 'O Corno' wins the Golden Shell
  • For the first time in 71 editions, the work of a Basque filmmaker has been the winner of the prize. Donostiarra Jaione Camborda has been the winner of the Golden Shell, for the fourth consecutive year the awarded woman.

The film O Corno (Adarra) by Donostiarra director Jaione Camborda was awarded by the jury of the 71 edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival. It’s a totally Galician film and all the characters with a little centrality are women – see the film’s critique here.

Significant awards:

  • Golden Shell to the best director: Jaione Camborda, O Corno.
  • Silver Shell to the best director: Tzu-Hui Peng and Ping-Wen Wang, Chun xing / A Journey in Spring.
  • Best Screenplay: Maria Alché and Benjamin Naishtati, in Pua.
  • Silver Shell to the Best Main Interpretation for two people: Marcelo Suiotto, in Pua; and Tatsu Fuji, Great Absence.
  • Silver Shell to Best Group Interpretation: Hovik in Keuchkeria, Un Amor.
  • Award for best photography: Nadim Carlsen, Calas.
  • Special Jury Prize: Isabella Eklöf, Calas.
