More than nostalgia: When Son Goku started in Basque
  • Last week was 35 years of the first time Son Goku spoke in Basque. On 4 October 1989, the Dragon Ball was released in ETB1 (which started in Japan in 1984) and a commemorative event will be held in San Sebastian on 20 October, Sunday, with the issuance of that first episode and the protagonists of that extraordinary dubbing.

It will be at the Animedon de Donostia-San Sebastian (Donostia-San Sebastián 'anime' meeting) that will be held within the Week of Fantastic Film and Terror of Donostia-San Sebastian, with the sponsorship of EITB.

The event will take place on October 20 at 19:00 at the Main Theatre in the Guipuzkoan capital. The invitations have been exhausted somewhere, but they will have to be seen. The show will be led by journalist Ylenia Benito and will feature the presence of bertsolari and writer Xabier Amuriza, the first director of doubling the series; the voice of Seve Atencia, Goku and Gohan; the voice of Ana Guadalupe Fernández, voice of Bulma and singer of sequences of credits; and journalist Joxe Felipe Auzmendi.

In addition, there will be special section, live music and gifts.
