The motion has been tabled by Citizen-Citizens. As they have explained, "there is a great lack of neutrality in Getxo", which is accentuated in the festivities of the Biscay locality. The training has called for a ban on the participation in the holiday programme of "binding" acts with prisoners and groups working to defend their rights. In addition, they have called for the creation of a municipal ordinance that lists the types of sanctions that could be imposed in the txosnas for "violation of prohibitions and limits". Indeed, they have described as "particularly serious" the use of cartels that "bet on terrorism and harm people's dignity".
PNV, PSE-EE and Citizen-Citizens voted in favour of the motion, Guk Getxo and pp abstained and EH Bildu voted against it. According to Santiago Sainz: "The Abertzale left has rejected parties that do not finance public money initiatives that generate contempt and humiliation for the victims or their families," he added.
