It lives a few kilometres from the incinerator being built in Zubieta: Lasarte-Oria. It also lived in Andoain and Usurbil, within 10 kilometres of the incinerator. A. P. was very concerned about the impact that the pollution of the incinerator being built in Zubieta will have on the population of the area. It has been participating for years in the calls of the Anti-Incinerator Movement.

This suicide attempt was not due to the death, as a colleague of yours, who received a letter from an email, immediately called an emergency. When the doctors and firefighters were present at home, they found him in a serious state, with a reserved prognosis. He was treated urgently. He is currently recovering in the psychiatric ward of Donostia-San Sebastián, complying with the protocol against suicides.

ARGIA has been with him before publishing the information, contrasting what happened. Aware of the situation, he explained that he had been thinking about this action against the incinerator for some time and that on 15 May he decided to take the step. -Judges and others have come to find me guilty, and I have repeated to them: The Anti-Incinerator Movement didn't know anything, nobody has pushed me to do this, nobody knew anything, it was my initiative, don't look for any offenders outside," he said.

A. P. has a psychiatric history and a few years ago he attempted suicide. "We've had a hard life, and that's something else. This time I didn't do it out of desperation, but as a political act," he says. "That terrain was my paradise, I've been walking those mountains for years, enjoying nature; now you're making that monster and I felt it was the right time to do what I did."

"Life is the biggest thing, let no one take it as a model, please," he added.

“I’ve taken my life because I don’t want to see this premeditated and executed crime with alevosy. By 2050 you will see the consequences of the poisoning of the earth, but perhaps they are also dead and cannot be held accountable,” he said in the letter. The following can be read in full in Basque.

I am the first victim of the incinerator.

I've decided to take my life away by causing great pain and emptiness in my loved ones, because I can't find a better way to denounce the criminal negligence of some politicians who achieve majorities in this society. This society is committing suicide with so many tremendous amounts of meat, so many private cars, dragons series, virtual communications and flights across the world.

I can no longer tolerate hypocrisy, injustice, the imposition and manipulation of your holy will. These “great managers” have condemned the citizens to slow and agonistic poisoning, with all the means and channels of disinformation available to them.

It is not enough that several epidemiological and economic studies have shown how harmful and pathogenic it is to burn waste. The peaceful and imaginative resistance of thousands of people is not enough. It is not enough for them to be cheaper alternatives, to create jobs. They only think of their sectarian and partisan benefit. Although they know that they punish entire towns and cities.

I've taken my own life because I don't want to witness a premeditated and executed crime with loudness. By 2050, you'll see the consequences of the spread of the earth, but maybe they're dead too, and you can't hold them to account. It is the future generations that will receive this black heritage. On the other hand, I trust that they will come together to achieve a dignified life that deserves to be called this way.

I am pleased, because I have tried peacefully to get these carefree people back to their senses, the admirers of infinitely impossible growth, the big companies and the political parties that finance their retirement. But seeing that they don't listen and are handed over to the authoritarian and inhumane practice of power, without thinking about people's well-being, I've decided to leave, even though I realize that I'm going to leave the pain, the suffering and the incurable emptiness that I love most. I apologise for that.

A kiss. A cordial greeting.

Note: You may be told that I'm a madman of bad fame, but that doesn't belittle the multiple reasons that you give me to oppose residue burning.
