Netflix arrived in Ipar Euskal Herria in 2014, a year after their arrival in the South. In these territories, French, Spanish and English have been the main languages of the platform. According to the platform, if there is a real demand in any of the languages, it would offer the contents in this language. In the request it is emphasized that the Vasco-speakers have the right to live in Basque.

At the moment, Netflix has several movies in Basque, including Errementari and Handia, as the original language of the film is Basque. The dubbing sector in our language is still scarcer, so they have asked the platform to create more material in Basque.

This is not the first time such a request has been made. The moment Netflix arrived at Hego Euskal Herria in 2015, the Basque Government was asked to collaborate with Netflix. They claimed that Vasco-speakers not only exist in Euskal Herria, but exist all over the world and that they also have the right to watch movies and series in Euskera.
