- Pollution measurements will be carried out by the ToxiWatch Foundation and a Basque company accredited by the Basque Government in the immediate vicinity of the Gipuzkoa incinerator. On Tuesday morning, the samples were announced at a press conference before the smoker infrastructure was activated in a Zubieta cooker, in order to contrast the data for a possible reactivation, as the Member intends.
Driven by the Zubieta Lantzen Association, samples were taken before incineration was started at the following locations: Zubieta, Usurbil, Donostia, Añorga, Lasarte-Oria, Hernani, Andoain, Urnieta and surroundings of Errastegi.
They've taken the following samples, arguing that they're the right material to control dioxins and furans: eggs, I think they eat the chickens, grass, soil and moss in the area.
The members of Zubieta Lantzen have stated that once the data prior to the dismantling of the incinerator is known, if the Member headed by Markel Olano ignites the infrastructure, they will carry out an annual analysis and monitor the results.
The Zubieta Lantzen association, at a press conference last Thursday, pointed out that they did so "as self-defence".
