In its statement, it urges the Basque Parliament to "fully respect the institutional reality stemming from our organic law on the Reintegration and Amejoramiento of the Fuero and from our Constitution, as well as respect for the territorial reality of this Foral Community, endorsed by a broad social majority in all electoral processes in democracy".
The statement, submitted by Navarre Suma, was supported by the PSN, which was sufficient to take forward the votes against Geroa Bai, EH Bildu, Podemos and Left-Ezkerra.
The text adopted shows "the rejection of the documents presented by the commissioners of the parliamentary groups in the Basque Parliament, in which reference is made to Navarre in the report to update the Basque self-government, beyond what is laid down in the Constitution".
For all these reasons, the Parliament of Navarre calls on the Basque Parliament and its management bodies to "adopt the necessary agreements to render the texts presented null and void, because they refer to a non-existent political and institutional reality which under no circumstances belongs to that Parliament or to the territories which represent the decision-making process with regard to the Foral Community of Navarre".
According to the Member of Parliament of Navarra Suma, Carlos PĂ©rez-Niovo, "the Basque Parliament has no legal and institutional right to establish in any working document anything that exclusively affects the Foral Community of Navarra". "The pretensions of the political parties that make up the Basque Parliament are nothing but pretensions, and the institutional reality is above that. We call for institutional respect and for that part of the texts that have been put in place to be deleted," he added.
