In use, the photograph is repeated five years earlier, and in 30 years, if there was an upward rise -- and it wasn't very large.
The evolution of attitudes is what motivates the concern. Narrowing the gap and increasing opposition. In 10 years' time those in favour have also risen, but more those against: the central group "neither side nor against" has gone down further, perhaps with polarisation.
