Sociolinguistic data of Navarre: progress in knowledge but anti-rise attitudes
  • 7 de Navarra. Euskarabidea, the Basque Department of the Government of Navarra, has released data from the Socio-linguistic Survey. The measurements are from 2021 and, summarizing the data collected, as sociolinguistics Kike Amonarriz has done, "benefits in knowledge, maintenance in use and losses in attitudes"

The main survey data are found in this presentation available on the network. Here are some significant graphs that collect data.

The clearest positive data from the study is that knowledge has reached almost a quarter of the population of Navarra, taking into account the Basque recipients:

By age, taking into account the evolution of the last 5 years:

Knowledge by field is as follows:

Evolution of Euskaldunes highly appreciable in each area:

And an important field, the capital of Pamplona. Evolution of Basques in Bera in the last decade:

Use

In use, the photograph is repeated five years earlier, and in 30 years, if there was an upward rise -- and it wasn't very large.

Attitudes towards Euskera

The evolution of attitudes is what motivates the concern. Narrowing the gap and increasing opposition. In 10 years' time those in favour have also risen, but more those against: the central group "neither side nor against" has gone down further, perhaps with polarisation.

Attitudes according to linguistic zoning in Navarra:

And depending on the age, where a relative equality in the attitudes of each age group is now seen (more than before):
