Some subcontracted caregivers in public centers of the model D of Navarra do not know Euskera
  • In some subcontracted services in public centers of the Model D of Navarra the Basque Country is not required, so some workers who work directly with children do not know this, for example, among bus carers. This has been denounced by the Centre, the Sortzen Association, and by several fathers and mothers from the Biscay region.

An example of transport services has been given: in the awards no linguistic criteria are established and children living in Basque and studying in the school can be assigned caregivers who have no knowledge of the Basque country. They have recalled that it occurs throughout Navarre and that it has an easy solution: to ensure that in these services there are professionals who dominate the Basque Country, understanding that taking into account linguistic criteria entails guaranteeing the quality of public services.

They have denounced the lack of respect towards the students of model D. In her words, when we talk about education, it is especially important to guarantee an integral offer in Basque in the services aimed at children who study in Basque.

They ask the Department of Education of the Government of Navarra to take account of linguistic criteria in public contracts. They ask the Department to take measures to ensure the service in Basque in all subcontracted offers in relation to child and youth leisure.
