Basque creators Julen Irazoki, Ibai Aizpurua and Mikel Dale have just released a monster that has recently been recorded in Bilbao. This is a frenzied puzzle game that proposes to merge or join terrifying monsters by tactile controls on your mobile.

The goal is to place the monsters who have the same shape in the same row and slide in one direction, allowing us to add up - two in each movement - by adding points and creating an even stronger monster. If we do the same thing with these more fearsome beings, we multiply the points we get.

The game proposes to break our best brands and choose from different tables: We will see boards of 3×3, 4×4, 5×5 or 6×6.

The concept will become very popular to all those who are immersed in the world of puzzle games on mobile devices, Threes! Monster shares bases similar to the 2048 mythical ones that achieved the most success later.

However, the title programmed by Irazoki combines it with the typical Aizpurua Plastiline aesthetic. The new game has a claymation look similar to the works of Barraka or Fart Starter, which the Basque gaming community knows well. Dale, for his part, has been in charge of composing the melodies that we will hear in each match.

In Munstro we can play on the Android operating system:It can be downloaded for free via the Play Store. Its menus and texts are fully translated into Basque.

Asked if there will be a future version of iOS, Irazoki has pointed out that the Iphone and the like “have more than you think” and “perhaps do”.

Collaboration born from Euskal Game Jam

The three creators participated in the Euskal Game Jam meeting organized by the Game Erauntsia Association in collaboration with Zomorro Studio. Aizpurua and Irazoki were already known in advance, but Dale was recognised in the first initiative they took last year, in which they were present.

Among the games they have created are Nazka, Arimen Gaua, Oinaztargi and the aforementioned Fart Starter.
