The use of the application is not mandatory, it can be downloaded by anyone who wants it. Users who have been in contact with the user for at least 15 minutes are registered anonymously after the download. In this way, if one of them tests positive for the virus, he warns others, recommending that they go to the doctor.

Despite Parliament’s yes, the implementation has received many criticisms that have described it as an invasion of people’s privacy. The application has distributed society and parliament, according to the demographic institutes Opinea and Carvea Consulting, both based in Barcelona. 45% of society is against him, is concerned about the use of his personal data and about the fact that he can disseminate that information.

The Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, has underlined the importance of collective health and has responded to criticism by stating that failure to respond to the situation the State is experiencing will go against freedom.
