The MTV awards have gone, but apparently not for a long time. As EiTB reported this Monday, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia plans to host a new concert by the US television channel "EITB Kultura". This concert would be held in spring or summer next year, in Getxo, in the Old Port of Algorta.

Among the events leading up to the European MTV awards held this weekend at the BEC of Barakaldo, a concert stands out in the Old Port of Algorta with Belako, Wolf Alice, WAS and La Casa Azul.

However, this concert had to be moved to Miribilla de Bilbao, thinking that the shortage of audience in the previous concerts of MTV Music Week was due to bad weather conditions – in Barakaldo there were fewer spectators than expected in the concerts of Revolta Permanent, Iseo & Dosound, Muchachito and La Sticker; something similar happened in a second space in Landako.

The Representative highlights the "success" of the MTV awards

The Provincial Council of Bizkaia underlined on Monday, the day after the central event, that MTV’s activity has been “very successful”. Rementeria has highlighted that "it will be difficult" to prepare an action of this kind, as around 70,000 viewers have been counted in total. He has stated that Bizkaia has demonstrated his "great ability" to organize, and wanted to "thank" MTV's attitude to the Basque Country and culture, through the concerts of the English band Berri Txarrak and Crystal Fighters.

The Mayor of Bilbao, Juan Mari Aburto, has also been pleased with the performance of the multinational. In addition to Bilbao, he stressed that in Bizkaia it has also had a great impact and that it will have a long-term impact.
