The streets of Pamplona/Iruña have been filled with white and red and a feminist cry. The feminist movement in Pamplona has concentrated on July 7, at 21:30 pm in Plaza del Castillo, to denounce a high-intensity sexual assault and three low-intensity sexual abuses. Sexual assault has taken place in the early hours of Sunday in the Old Party, and the police have arrested a 31-year-old man. Some bars, associations and txosnas have closed their doors and suspended their concerts.

The message of the feminist movement has been clear: “You have a party with us, the attackers out!” The concern and focus are on men: “The problem is not the institutions, the feminist movement and much less the women who suffer the aggressions. They are men who constantly attack us.” They therefore appeal to the defence of the aggressors and to abandon a culture that calls women into question.

In this regard, they stressed that women "have the right to live freely". They have added that in order to guarantee this, men must have an “active attitude” to the aggressions: “We ask men to stop attacking. We are here for you, because you continually attack us.”

Every year there is a purple spot in the Plaza del Castillo, in line with guaranteeing women’s rights. The aim is to advise, inform and raise awareness of the aggressions. More assaults and detainees in Navarre

These are not the only attacks that have been recorded in recent days in Navarre. On Friday, 6 July, at 23:00 a.m., Foral Police officers arrested a man in Berriozar. The man has been imprisoned on charges of sexually assaulting a woman on the street.

In addition, a man has been arrested in Tudela on charges of sexually assaulting a woman in the family home of her partner. On Saturday, July 6, at 07:00 hours, a woman alerted the Municipal Police that she had been assaulted by a male. A patrol went to the site and arrested the male accused of a sexual assault offence to a woman. The attack was recorded by the cameras of the Plaza de los Fueros de Madrid. The detainee has been placed in prison by court order, as reported by the Basque Department of the Interior.
