The round table will take place at the Okendo Cultural Center in the neighborhood of Gros, starting at 19:00. The organizers explain in their note to the press that they want to "discuss the current model of energy transition": "It is known that, in order to take into account the biophysical limits of the earth and lay the foundations of a socially just model, it is up to us to radically change the energy system. The question is whether the so-called 'energy transition', which has been announced with great excitement, is going down this road."
They say, "We're at a crucial moment," and that's why they want to push the debate: "We want to know the reasons for the different positions that exist on the issue of large renewable energy projects and on solutions characterized by industrial gigantism and give an opportunity for an enlightening debate."
Four environmental groups have announced that they have also prepared another event: on February 27, the presentation of the popular initiative Picos de Urumea Viva will take place at the Okendo Cultural Center. There will be groups of neighbors from Arano, Hozueta and Hernani, who will explain about the wind macroprojects that Repsol and Endesa want to carry out in the mountains of Urumea.
