INPRIMATU
A tool that brings historical memory to the schools of Euskal Herria
  • Concerned about the lack of knowledge that today's students have of the sufferings of previous generations during the 1936 war and the Franco dictatorship, a group of professors has created material to collect and work in educational centers the works that have been done and the testimonies that have been collected from that time in Euskal Herria. “The goal is for the new generations to know and seek the truth about what they silenced and hidden in the past.”

The teachers of the Instituto Koldo Mitxelena in Vitoria-Gasteiz have created Oroimenaren harra, and in addition to proposing various resources to work the historical memory in the classroom (web pages, books, songs, audio-visual, sculpture and painting, plays, such as the film Izarren argia or the theater play Francoren bilobari guár), have prepared teaching units to work in Secondary Tuna.

3 March, Gernika, Germán Rodríguez…

Among the didactic units we find, for example, a didactic unit to analyze what happened on March 3, opening closets (to work the historical memory related to homosexuality), four units that analyze the role of women, the work on live testimonies, the literary representation of the bombardment of Gernika, a unit that remembers what happened in the Sanfermines of 1978 and Germán Rodríguez…

Through the educational community, the objective is that not all these experiences fall into oblivion, “in short, to do justice in their honor to those who suffered the repression”.
