We want good doctors and Euskaldunes
Txema Landa Aizkorbe @LandaTxema 2024ko apirilaren 06a

Lack of good doctors for a high middle grade policy. This policy has ensured that very few young people have reached the medical career and the MIR has further removed people from that career.

And there are few Basque doctors because the knowledge of Euskera in this profession has not been boosted. Following a wrong axiom: what do you want to be a good doctor or a Basque? Is the answer easy, a good doctor and Euskaldun, or does the Basque Country make it difficult to be a good doctor?

Since 1979, after a pause in the López government, the PNV has been responsible for these policies. Therefore, if since 1979 they have not been able to offer a solution to Public Health, they will now hardly offer it, since their only alternative is to direct patients towards Private Health, that is, to privatize Osakidetza and Osasunbidea, instead of requesting the “Health Card”, to request the Credit Card.

In the Foral Community of Navarra neither three governments have made efforts to solve these problems, nor does it seem that what forms the PSN, the Geroa Bai Group and the With You Group and the one that supports EH Bildu are solving, in view of the policies of valorization of the Basque Country, nor as merit, in public office.

It only happens to them to bring outside doctors, whether outside the community or not, and nobody will ask them to know Basque, even if they are asked to speak Spanish.

Health is a very serious thing, which can be left in the hands of those who have done nothing so far, that there are no gestures in favor of Private Health and that the Public Health doctors are required that no one ask them in private.

We taxpayers spend millions of euros for people, once prepared, to go abroad if they want to work with dignity, with the human morbidity and talent that this entails.
