- In Biarritz, Mayi Pelot was born in Occitania in 2016. He was one of the pioneers in writing futuristic tales. Sareinak, in collaboration with the Maiatz Association and the Gaztetxe Zizpa of Baiona, has organised a tribute to make the creator known and acknowledge his contribution.
The event will take place at the gaztetxe Zizpa de Baiona, on 16 March, at 17:00. At the debate table will be Josune Muñoz, Itxaro Borda and Arrate Hidalgo. The first of these will be presented to Mayi Pelot, who will be debuting in Barcelona. The second, he will talk about the time when Pelot published his works (Baiona and the Biarritz environment of the 1980s) and will share his memories of Pelot with the congregants there. The third installment will deal with feminist science fiction, giving the opportunity to place Pelot’s work on a global level.
After the round table, the friends of the Xerezade archive will make a dramatic reading of a work by the writer.
Finally, Mayo will present the re-edition of the collection of all the works of Mayi Pelot.
Sareinak, a group that brings together literature and feminism, will take advantage of the event to celebrate its twelve years of experience, and all those who come close to it will enjoy a snack.
