Trade unions say that the decline in public services is evident. "We are facing a new attempt to obstruct the exercise of the right to strike to minimize the impact of the strike and to give a normal image in the workplace," the unions said.
According to the unions, in view of their content, “it is clear that organizations have committed themselves to maintaining services above the minimum they had established prior to the pandemic,” they explained that the pandemic has been the perfect excuse for exponentially increasing minimum services.
On the morning of 12 March, demonstrations will be held in Araba, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa. In order to promote public services and the people who enable them, the unions call on the institutions to improve working conditions.
Specifically, the improvements requested are:
• Wage increase of 10% and debt recovery commitment.
• Close the door to privatization and agree on publishing plans.
• Creation and consolidation of public employment with a temporality of 8%.
• Alleviate workloads ensuring the health of the workforce.
• Consensus on feminist policies, real and effective equality plans.
• Administrations and personnel in Basque without fraud.
• Put the reduction in working hours in the direction of the 32-hour working week.
