The King of Morocco pardons 188 members of the Hirak movement of the Rif, leaving their leaders in prison
  • King Mohamed VI has pardoned a number of prisoners who had been imprisoned for their involvement in the rebellion in northern Rif for the past two years. In any case, Naser Zafzafi and other personalities of the movement are not among the pardoned.

Rif eskualdeko protestek milaka herritar atera zituzten kalera.

These prisoners were sentenced to two to three years in prison and are being held in the prisons of Casablanca, Alhucemeta, Taunate and Fez.

On Wednesday is the Muslim feast of the ram and coinciding with that day, several common prisoners are pardoned each year.

A total of more than 800 people were tried for involvement in the rebellion, including 188 minors. There are currently more than 400 inmates in prison.
