The Public Prosecutor ' s Office has reduced the request for punishment to nineteen of the 22 defendants who were convicted. For the other three, however, fines ranging from EUR 1,500 to EUR 1,800 have been imposed. At the trial, the young people refused to have occupied the palace and claimed that they were alone in the interior when the second time was opened to support the Gaztetxe project. At the same time, they have denied that they would have intended to stay inside the house.
The young people have been charged with a minor offence of usurpation of property, although they have not been able to demonstrate that at the time of the occupation they acted within the gaztetxe or that they caused the damage they were charged. According to Euskalerria Irratia, the young people were greeted by applause at the Palacio de Justicia de Navarra, where they were received. Currently, the Court of Instruction No. 1 of Vitoria-Gasteiz considers that the state of the building is uncertain, since the state of the palace material is not the best.
