Coinciding with Palestinian Earth Day on Sunday, the campaign Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel held demonstrations in Bilbao, Pamplona, Vitoria and San Sebastián. Although the companies operating in the Basque Country aim to denounce their relationship with the Zionist entity, they have focused especially on the relationship that the CAF has: "The Basque company CAF collaborates with the Zionist occupation and genocide in Palestine through the apartheid train project."

It is alleged that the CAF has acted in violation of international law and against the will of its workers and Basque public opinion. For the BDS, the CAF aims to build the tram that connects the "stolen land" of Palestine with Jerusalem and has been fulfilling these aspirations for five years.

They recall that, according to the International Court of Justice, the governments of the UN Member States have an obligation to prevent trade relations that contribute to the maintenance of the illegal occupation of the Palestinian territory. As a result, both the Government and the Government of Navarre have denounced their complicity with the CAF, since Lakua has 3% of the company’s shares under its control and the Government of Navarre has been subsidizing the group’s companies for several years. Therefore, the BDS demands compliance with the law and the suspension of relations.
