- The mountain marches will take place along nine valleys affected by five wind farms promoted by the company Sacyr and will culminate in an ultra race that will run through all the valleys.
The five wind polygons intended to be built would affect the valleys of Odieta, Xulapain, Ezkabarte, Olaibar, Anue, Egüés Valley, Valle de Erro, Lizoain-Arriasgoiti and Steribar, and will join all the weekly rides.
The initiative will begin next Sunday, May 9, and will start at 10:00 hours from the village of Annoz. From there the highlands of Aldaun and Mendurro will rise, where half of all the wind turbines of the first park will be located. At the end, the witness will pass to the neighbors affected by the second wind farm and the high-voltage line, and so on Sundays, from 9 May to 26 June.
An ultra korrika, which will travel 160 km, will put an end to the mountain marches, touring all the valleys in a single weekend.
With this initiative, the Haize Berriak association wants to make known and value the valleys affected by the projects presented by Sacyr. It has called for the moratorium on Navarre’s wind and photoboltaic macro-projects and has called on society for social debate on the energy transition and renewable energies.
