They mobilize in Baiona against the decision to dismantle the Earth Uprising collective

Two months after the Sainte-Solin conflict, the French Government has decided to dismantle the Earth Uprising Group. On the contrary, the group says that it will appeal to the Council of State. Outside Baiona, mobilisations have been made throughout France against the government’s decision.

The journalist picks up the words of the Ostia network, which organizes the mobilization of Baiona: “This dissolution creates a dangerous precedent in the authoritarian sliding of government, an irreversible point.” The United Nations has denounced the violence of the French police, the criminalization of ecological militancy and the forced maintenance of public order, against which the network has chosen to “accelerate repression”.

On 15 June, fifteen environmental militants were arrested and on 21 eighteen in connection with the action against Lafarge. Bayona’s mobilization denounces the designation of environmental activists as “eco-terrorists” and calls for the release of detainees.

Against the order of dissolution, the Earth Uprising shall be appealed to the Council of State: “We believe in the possibility of a judicial victory to overturn this absurd decision, as has happened in recent years with other political solutions.” He says that the order does not have a "solid foundation" and that being a "horizontal" movement, one cannot "undo", Ainhoa Pascual, a lawyer attached to the bar association, to the AFP agency.
