Although the conditional release of Lorentxa Beyrie was expected on 1 August, the resolution of the prisoner’s request for release must wait with a longer package.

Lorentxa Beyri has been detained for 18 years in Roanne prison in the department of Loire. It is 683 kilometers from Kanbo (Lapurdi). The request for conditional release of the Basque prisoner was lodged on 21 June before the Court of Justice of France.

The French Justice spoke yesterday in favour of the release of Lorentxa Beyrie, which France is facing. However, the State Prosecutor ' s Office, i.e. the prosecutor, has already filed an appeal against the court ' s decision. So, Beyri can't get out of jail.

Lorentxa Beyrie has been in three prisons to this day: In Fleury Merogis, Joux la Ville and Roanne. In December 2017 he last applied for parole, and in 2013 and 2016 he filed two new applications for release. Both were rejected by French justice, which declared them guilty of homicide. On this occasion, although justice has recognized it, the State Prosecutor has dismissed the possibility of being released.
