One more year, the Old Town of Zarautz will become a place of Basque letters in May. Although last year it was held at the end of May, this edition will be held from 5 to 7 May, the first weekend of the month. The main tent of Literature, which will be the refuge of the book fair, as well as the more than fifteen presentations of books and round tables that they intend to organize, will be inaugurated in the Plaza de las Derecho Antigua. "The goal will be to give a place to creation and break with reading," the organizers said at the Garoa library appearance.

Literature will have its 10th edition, but this year's edition, as pointed out by his colleague Itziar Iruretagoiena, will be "special" for the creation of the Euskera Plaza Doinuele.

Prolific programme

The Literature will begin on Friday May 5 at 20:00 hours with the manifesto of Zarauztarra writer Jon Benito. Then Aner Euzkitze, Leire Vargas, Oihana Arana and Haizea Arana will offer the latest Banquete show created for this festival. The entry for the event will be 8 euros and the buyer will have a 3 euros bonus to spend on books.

Saturday is the day when literature explodes. At noon the opening of the fair will take place in the Plaza de las Derecho Antigua. The Karrikiri Association of Pamplona will be recognised for its work in favour of Basque literature and culture during these years, and Pamplona will receive the memory of the Zarauztarra artist Manu Urbieta.

Just half an hour, at 12:30, in the Model room, the chronicle of Erretene will be offered by Lanartea, Association of Basque Professionals. The flowers will be screened on the knees of her documentary and then gathered at the table to comment on the struggles of Amagoia Gurrutxaga, Koldo Izagirre, Eneritz Artetxe and Ainara Azpiazu Axpi. (We have recently taken up your words in ARGIA).

At 18:00, also on Saturday and in the Modelo room, Ane García and Eider Pérez will offer the poetic performance Hitz esana. Finally, at 20:00, the Kalakan music group will offer a performance for which an entry will also have to be obtained.

There will also be an appointment for the youngest, as the children's section Literattipia will continue as every year: on May 6, at 11:00, in the Etxezabala room, we will tell musical tales The secrets of the forest, by the hand of Amaia Elizagoien and Irati Celestino.

Also hot closure

On Sunday morning, May 7, two events will be held before the closure of the Literature. At 11:00 hours, the musical recital of the book Mare from the 1545 editorial will take place in the Modelo room. The performance will be directed by Jon Martin and in addition to the poems of Iñigo Martínez, Ana Galarraga and Udane Juaristiz who have participated in the book of the same name, several writers and six young Zarauztarras students will read their poems accompanied by Idoia Asurmendi.

At 12:30, to close the festival, at the same fair and under the title Curves and paths in the interview, they will meet at the table Itziar Ugarte, Uxue Apaolaza and Ines Osinaga.
