The Zaporeak project raises sufficient funds to distribute food in Lesbos
  • The collection began in mid-January, with the aim of raising 40,000 euros for the purchase of a van. Through social media, Zaporeak has reported that they have managed to reach that figure.

The new van will allow the project workers to distribute food to the refugees on the Greek island of Lesbos. In this sense, they have thanked "the support and help of Basque society". The two music festivals held in Pamplona/Iruña have helped to reach the amount they needed.

The deadline was set until March, when the crowdfounding campaign was opened, at a public hearing on 14 January. But only two weeks have passed and they have come to an unemployment of around EUR 40,000. If they did not get enough money, they said that they would no longer be able to feed thousands of refugees in the Moria refugee camp every day.
