5 Leioa-free. Stop political repression! under the motto "Last Saturday, in Altsasu (Navarra), a mobilization took place at the festivities. A solidary meal was held in the tent of the first Festival Commission of Altsasu/Alsasua, in order to contribute to the economic expenses that will occur in the lawsuit against 5 Leioa. Then the demonstration took place in the streets of the town, starting at 18:00.

At the end of this month, on 27 September, 5 Leioa will be tried. The trial will take place early in the morning in Bilbao (Bizkaia). The five defendants were arrested in a mobilization that took place on the campus of Leioa (Bizkaia) in 2016, in a demonstration to denounce the repression that the student movement was suffering.

In this regard, they are accused of public disorder, material damage and injury, as well as of an attack on authority. A total of EUR 45,000 and 40 years of brutal punishment for the five, seventeen years of imprisonment for two persons.

Mobilizations also this week

To demand that the 5 of Leioa be free, they have organized several mobilizations for these weeks. Following last Saturday’s mobilisation in Altsasu / Alsasua, the Leioa campus and the districts of the five people involved will protest this week. The first date is in Leioa for this Thursday. At 13:00 they will meet in Mikel Laboa Square on campus, convened by Ikasle Abertzaleak.

This Saturday there will be calls in five locations: Altsasu / Alsasua, Baiona (Lapurdi), Pamplona (Navarra), Estella (Navarra) and Portugalete (Bizkaia). Specifically, Saturday appointments are as follows: 13:00 hours in front of Altsasu / Alsasua City Hall, 11:00 hours in front of Baiona City Hall, 12:00 hours in the Estella bus station and 19:00 hours in the Pamplona Company Square and in the Portugalete Triangle.
