The new government formation has left many unanswered questions, but it is clear that once again we will have to be firm in betting on the Basque Public School. We were told that, although the same party will govern, we would have new faces, but that has not been entirely true either.

He will now be the vice-counselor we have had over the past four years, and that has its pros and cons. On the one hand, adaptation will be easier, but on the other hand, we already know the degree of effectiveness of this Vice-Office so far limited. The Department of Education we have had over the past four years has shown no real will to sign an agreement in any sector. This data is serious considering that when they were appointed, this was their main objective, or at least we were informed of it.

In exchange for the will of the Steilas union, we also look forward to that of the Department of Education to put the Basque Public School at the centre of the educational system.

The heritage of this Department of Education in terms of education policy has been the adoption of a law on the protection of public educational centers. Let us not forget that only its members of government supported that law and that no one wanted to mention in the election campaign. We do not, therefore, know for whom the success has been. It has by no means been a good law for the public school, and it has not been a law that guarantees the equality, cohesion and Euskaldunization that our society needs.

As regards the working conditions of workers, patrimony is also very scarce. With the aim of shattering the voices opposed to the educational law and outside the negotiating table, only with the signing in Arantzazu and with that of two unions, they managed to reach an indeterminate and non-binding agreement that would improve the conditions of all workers in the educational system. Beyond what appears to be, this agreement has not yielded any benefits, as no real agreement has been reached at the sectoral tables.

From Steilas, as always, we will put all the good will and we will always be ready to meet with the counselor. However, in exchange for the union’s will, we also hope that the Basque Public School will once and for all be at the centre of the education system. We therefore hope that there will be real negotiations to dignify the working conditions of workers who are thermometers of the system. If this does not happen, we do not need to wait 100 days of courtesy, as there is still a lot of domestic work without doing, therefore, from the beginning of the course we will start the fight for the working conditions of the educational staff and by the Basque Public School.
