The concerts will take place in Lehendakari Agirre Square on 20 and 21 September.

But Atlantikaldia is more than just a conventional music festival, as highlighted at the press conference presenting cartel heads. It is born with the vocation of being a cultural meeting place and for this purpose, the Maritime Conversations are held from the first editions of Atlantikaldia. In addition, in 2017 the Maritime Meeting Points and last year the Currents Marinas were joined. The sum of all of them will this year bring the Live Tides, “a wager to show creators and artists that are not yet known” in low tide and high tide, filling the whole town with music and culture.

Atlantikaldia wants to be a festival that “integrates the values of the people”. According to the Councillor for Culture, Ion Collar, among other things, the importance of citizen participation has been given: “It aims to facilitate coexistence between cultures and languages. It encourages dialogue and collaboration between different actors, between us and between different cultures.”

The councillor has pointed out that "a good chaparron" has been received by the citizens, which has enriched and supplemented the programming of Atlantikaldia.

In addition to the quoted September quote, Atlantikaldia is already immersed in various creative processes. In addition to the Maritime Conversations, the City Hall, the Etxepare Institute and the Scottish Dance Base National Dance Centre have launched a collaborative project, Atlantik 1050, which is already underway.

Another sample of the work already underway can be seen on 19 September: From the interview with Oreka TX and San Salvador, a show will be offered as a result of the artistic residence of both groups in Niessen Kulturgunea, as explained by the director of the festival, Iker Tolosa.

The music group Nogen has been in charge of making this year's edition song, Marean. And to announce the festival, the gala poster was produced by Estudio artist Savanna Arrate Rodríguez, Carlos Ndungmandum and Daniel Delgado, among others.
