The ESK union stresses the need to strengthen primary care and "stabilize" workers' working conditions: “They must invest in more professionals by properly dimensioning the staff of the centers and dignifying the contracts, definitively ending the precariousness and betting on the stability and dignity of the workers”. Instead of strengthening them, the Basque Government has announced that it will earmark EUR 277 million for the extension of the hospitals in Donostia, Basurto and Galdakao. The union considers that the decision is “inadequate”.

Although they are ancestral demands, the unions have denounced that the PNV and the PSE make the “ear”. Imanol Pradales, a national presidential candidate, has also been criticized for promoting “more pharaonic constructions”.
