The young people of Alsasua have spoken to the media of the Navarre capital for the first time. They claim that they have decided to end a "long and hard" stage of four years, despite the fact that the penalties (one before another) will not be met until 2025 and that they are now in a "semi-freedom" situation. The young people of Altsasu spoke Adur Ramirez de Alda.
First of all, Ramírez de Alda wanted to thank "everyone who has given the grain everywhere" during these four years and has admitted that "they will never" forget it and that "we will never be able to thank enough". "We have been nothing more than one of the hundreds of political, media, judicial and police assemblies that have been in Euskal Herria and throughout the state," he said, although he acknowledged that for some reason this case "has overcome the walls that others had not achieved".
Looking back, he made the following thought: "We interpret the whole process with perspective as an achievement of the people, of the work of the people, of the people who have brought us out of the walls, of solidarity and of commitment."
Igone Goikoetxea has participated in the event on behalf of the parents of the family. He recalled in particular the work they have done on the street, as well as the numerous concentrations that have been carried out in the village and the mass demonstrations on a more general level. He has described what has happened in the last four years as "extreme injustice" and "abuse of absolute power." Goikoetxea has also participated as a member of the Aske citizen platform and stressed that although the goal of some was to divide them, the people have remained united over these four years.
