After four eliminators of the individual Álava championship, they decided to change the form of the championship. The Bertsolaris have taken the decision because the right conditions for singing could not be guaranteed and the situation could lead to uncertainty. This year is the Bertsolaris Championship of Álava.

The first flat final of the competition will be played on April 17, in the fronton of Izarra. It will end on 22 May in Legutiano. There will be three quarters of finals, two semifinals and the great final that will be played in the fronton Labrit of Pamplona. Izarra, Araia, Oyón, Amurrio, Vitoria and Legutiano. Nine pairs made up of 18 bertsolaris will face each other in quarterfinals, six pairs in semifinals and three in the final pairs. Each bertsolari will sing once in each phase.
