In a joint communiqué, the Civil Guard has arrested three people for an alleged crime of alluding to terrorism. First of all, they have recalled the essence of the citizens’ initiative: “Korrika is just an initiative for the Basque Country.” At the same time, they have emphasized that the Korrika contains a great diversity: “That is precisely the desire, the effort and the highest merit of Korrika: to bring together different people in favour of our language. Other demands that may arise between the Korrika, as diverse as participation, are nothing but a reflection of this broad and diverse participation of the Korrika”.

AEK and Korrika have expressed their "sadness" and "concern" about accusing some of the citizens who have participated in the Korrika of terrorism. “These kinds of arrests lead us to remote times, simply to influence the game of differences between parties.”

Sortu, for its part, has denounced that “the Civil Guard wants to take advantage of the election campaign in collaboration with various political forces to create confusion.” We are committed to a “peace and coexistence” scenario in which all rights are respected. An impossible scenario, however, “if there is a constant violation of prisoners’ rights and arrest people simply for denouncing this unjust situation”. In the face of what has happened, Sortu has reiterated his willingness to continue "fighting for peace and freedom" in Euskal Herria.

The Pro-Amnesty and Anti-Repression Movement has framed arrests in the "grave process of assimilation of Euskal Herria". In this sense, he stressed that "enemies have the depoliticization of retaliation for life or death". The movement therefore considers that the Spanish and French States are “committed” to denying the existence and political character of the political reprisals. Faced with the arrests, he has called for "to continue showing photos of political retaliation and political retaliation".
