The United States says coronavirus may be generated in a Chinese laboratory
  • Since the beginning of the pandemic its origin has been the main topic of conversation. The most widespread theory has placed his hometown on the market of the city of Wuhan, but the US Government has set its starting point at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The Basque Government has recalled that poor hygiene conditions in the area could lead to a pandemic.

The US Government has asked the Chinese Government to investigate whether the Wuhan Institute of Virology is possible to create the pandemic. The United States has ruled that the virus was created intentionally, but has pointed out that the virus may have spread through a laboratory accident. The Australian Government has joined the US request and has asked China for explanations for its situation.

The origin of this theory has been based on several reports written by U.S. diplomats. In these reports, diplomats showed concern about inadequate safety in the laboratory. As The Washington Post published, two years ago an US delegation specifically went to the laboratory and concluded that the safety conditions in the laboratory and the experiments carried out in it were dangerous.

Controversy as an objective?

The Wuhan Institute of Virology is a high-safety laboratory and, according to Vilaweb, in one of the laboratories of these safety measures it is very difficult for the virus to escape. However, this controversy can lead to tension between the governments of the two states and some experts say that this is the United States target: Divert the attention generated by the “bad” management of the government in the crisis.
