The fire broke out on Tuesday night in the Bardenas, in the district of Eguaras. At about 20:20 hours, they called SOS Deiak to warn that a fire had started in a crop plantation that was being plagued. The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, but it is believed that it was a harvester who set the fire, which crashed into the stones and caused a spark.
The fire intensified in a short space of time and extended to a forest, where the firefighters managed to control the fire. The firefighters moved to the area of Tudela, Tafalla and Peralta, and later to Estella, Sangüesa and Cordovilla. Two helicopters and the Azor aircraft were also used, but the work was suspended at night.
As he reported on Wednesday morning, the fire has already been controlled. The number of burned hectares shall be calculated throughout the day. According to the Government of Navarra, the damage suffered by the environment is "significant".
