The political class from the first neck
Mugitu! mugimendua 2021eko azaroaren 08a

Ten years ago, in Toulouse, we accused the political class that governs us of its depraved and inhumane elitist activity, Yolanda Barcina, on the figure of the then President of the Foral Community of Navarra.

Ten years later, the politicians who rule our territory take the lead, even though they have become an emergency of civilization, amidst a serious economic crisis, a global pandemic and a climate emergency.

Even if it is amazing, they remain as if nothing had happened, promoting devastating projects and infrastructures and hiding people from the anguish of reality. As trade show charlatans, they use keywords, circular, elegant, to erase the truth. They still use words that became fashionable since the Lehendakari Ibarretxe times, in a sustained or sustainable way. Today, all projects and infrastructures that favor economic elites are renewable, sustainable, clean, green, ecological, resistant to depopulation or climate change. Whether it's Urkullu, Txibite or Sanchez. It does not matter whether it is the Basque Y of the TAV or the Navarro Corridor, Superports or SuperSur.

"At a time when we are immersed in a civilizing emergency, continuing as always, besides being unacceptable, is criminal."

They tell us that the TAV is going to bring travelers and goods, liars! They are going to throw out that they are beneficial projects to deal with depopulation without making a single gesture on the hard face, although we all know that the TAV is only going to stop in the big cities, increasing depopulation and destroying the old train of always.

They send an elite and want to be part of it, once politics has been abandoned, receiving a golden retirement in the multinationals, where they have for years helped pass favorable laws for them and spend public money on far-flung, pointless projects. Long live our politicians and our revolving doors!

How it can be understood that, following the largest pandemic in history and the famous motto “People first!”, the PNV has announced its intention to allocate European funds to Petronor Respsol and the TAV. Or that Txibit and Sánchez intend to allocate the amounts that will correspond to Navarra to the Navarro Corridor of the TAV.

When the global capitalist system is increasingly showing us its limits, its shortcomings and its cyclical crises, at a time when we are in a civilizing emergency, it is not only unacceptable that we remain as always, but that it is criminal.

Unfortunately, professional political leaders remain the same as before. We say to him, therefore, we too.
