On January 30, La Direct published an infiltration by the Spanish Police. Daniel Hernàndez Pons, a Mallorcan with a false name, graduated as a police officer in June 2019 and, after a year, in June 2020, began to infiltrate the political environment of the Barcelona left. He began the infiltration process from the occupied social center of La Cinética, in the neighborhood of Sant Andreu, where he began to move to the gym. Once he had a foot in the popular movement, he took advantage of the relationships to extend its reach to more people and spaces. To this end, it especially used affective sexual relations with women, so that five women who have been related to it have filed criminal complaint, accused of sexual abuse, crimes against moral integrity, civil rights violations and disclosure of secrets, among others.
The case collapses when revealed. On 4 February, he appeared in Barcelona to condemn the espionage of the Spanish Government, and days before the CUP, ERC, PDeCAT, Junts, EH Bildu and BNG parties requested explanations from the Minister of the Interior, Fernándo Grande-Marlaska. The Ser announced on Thursday that police infiltrations are considered "legitimate and necessary" in an official document published by the Ministry of the Interior in August. On the basis of this criterion, it appears that the attitude of the Government of Spain towards the infiltrated police has rewarded its action. In particular, he assigns him a job in a Spanish embassy, according to the El Español media.
After making known the true identity of the infiltrated police, the agent is transferred as a protective measure outside Catalonia. However, the transfer has also been a prize for the police, the embassy post. According to Vilaweb, the police station of the embassy is the most demanded by the agents of the Spanish Police and the Civil Guard, with a minimum monthly wage of 10,000 euros. According to the embassy, the monthly wage can reach 20,000 euros, depending on the risk or distance.
