In the book we know Alice's life and through it Izagirre publishes the situation that Potosí suffers. Potosi (Villa Imperial de Potosi) is the Bolivian city. There is Cerro Rico, a silver mine located south of the city. The city has seen the arrival of the Spanish conquerors and the exploitation of silver, the 1952 revolution and the last guerrillas of Che Guevara, among others. The workers of the dictatorship were from here, and it is from here the children who today achieve laws not to work before the age of ten since it was manifested. This is what the book synopsis says.

Potosí has also received more awards, including the English Pen Award in 2018 and the Euskadi Prize in Literature in 2017. In addition, the media El País, The New York Times and Vozpópuli included it in the list of the best books of 2017.
