22. The Aste Nagusia Pirata has been presented today at the Donostiarra pier, and like every year, they will be accompanied by their cofradías, the crew without a vest and the rest of the volunteers that make up the community: Captain Ezkila and his assistant Matti. They report that this year the Sympathetic Dinners of Matti Street will be held: “This is a group of volunteers who meet to prepare and distribute dinners to people with no resources in our city and who, despite the difficulties, in the face of the irresponsibility of the institutions, distribute more than two hundred meals daily in three different points of the city. As in our own, the struggle for a transformation, the desire to put the needs of the citizens at the centre and, of course, the auzolan make their work possible. They are therefore entitled to our public and sincere recognition.”

Irati Gastesi and Alai Krus have been in charge of publicizing the details of Aste Nagusia Pirata. From 10 to 18 August they will meet to celebrate the popular and participative festivities, the mast Jalgi belak and the Euskara to the plaza! Under the motto '. In fact, in recent times there has been much talk about the offensive against the Basque Country, and before that, through the motto, they want to make it clear that Piratena is the Basque Country Square. A new edition of the Euskaldun and Euskaltzale festival, in which, before any aggression, they will join the Basque.

For eight days various activities will be carried out both in Flamenka and in other places in Donostia: performances of bertsolaris, pasacalles, games between crews, play-back competition, bizifesta, fair, popular meals, etc. In addition, the approach, which has become a symbol of the pirate movement, will be held on 12 August and registration will open early this month.

“Children will also have the opportunity to wear the patch and feel pirated, as for several days they will have activities specially dedicated to them: water games, a hockey workshop and a small approach, among others,” they explained.

Wide range of concerts

The Pirates have also prepared a varied musical offer that will set the nights of the different spaces of the Plaza del Flamenco and the Trinidad. As every year, giving priority to local musicians, they have created plural programming, Euskaldun and feminist: Akerbeltz erromeria; Bele, Hofe X 4:40, Bulegoa eta Belako ahots gazteak; Tremendous da Jauria, Sara Socas, Albina Stardust and Divina Comedia; La Fulana, Dj Pezon and Dj Txirahu Bureaucrpago Legends and Melaodias de Jua.

The list will be complemented by the cultural proposal that the Plaza de la Trinidad usually offers at night, “with the aim of becoming a bastion of pirates who love smaller deals”. Among others, they will go through the stage Rukula, Rüdiger and vincent Bestaven, Andoni Oilokiegi, Eraul or La Jodedera.

Feminist Presentation, prepared

This year the Pirates Feminist Working Group is also underway, which have highlighted that they are working to continue "to delve into the lines of work taken in previous years". “We pirates are clear that we want a festival and a city without aggression, also at parties, and we are ready to respond to it. In this way, we will put a link on the pier to denounce the aggressions and, in addition to denouncing them, it will be accompanied to those who need it, to the conservation area of the Boulevard”, explained Gastesi.

As you have explained, one more year the City Hall will install on the Boulevard a primary care center managed by the Emagin association to meet those who need it. “This year we have managed to maintain the schedule of this space. In particular, the opening hours shall be 21 hours a day, from 13:00 to 10:00 hours. However, the Pirates ask for more points to be made: “However, from the feminist team of Pirates of Donostia we see that it is not enough to attend in one point the aggressions of the whole city, and we reaffirm ourselves in the request to put more points for the city.”

On the other hand, on Tuesday, August 13, the feminists will gather in the festive space: “Through our program, we have opted for a festive space in which the dissidents we place on the margins can enjoy the party. Proof of this will be, among other things, the transfeminist vindictive kalejira and the night offering”.

Finally, they pointed out that they hope that, unfortunately, there will be attacks. That is why, on 17 August, at 20:00 in Flamenka, they will concentrate to denounce the pirates and the entire population in general.

The specific programme, which has not yet been disseminated, will be announced in a short period of time.
