It is an initiative born three years ago to make the women of Hondarribia visible and to achieve a more egalitarian street. The seven seats in the village set out to bear the name of the women and the seventh will be premiered this Saturday. However, Emeki points out that this is only a starting point and that they have more names to name new streets and squares.
Recognition
Agustina Genua Saralegi, Petra Laborda Zazuarrangi, Welcome Emazabel Susperregi and Anttoni Etxeberria Mendizabal are the places previously designated under this initiative. The other two seats are general: 8 March and Place de los Rederos. The seventh aims to pay tribute to Verónica Urkiola Lekuona, a “beloved” baker in the neighborhood where the plaza is located.
